2026 GREAT TAILGATE

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Crosby Scholars Great Tailgate on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 5pm - 8pm at the F&M Trolley Barn for a fun, football-themed night filled with food, music, and community spirit, all in support of Rowan County students and their college dreams. This annual fundraiser brings together friends, partners, and supporters who believe in building a strong college-going culture in Rowan County. Every ticket and sponsorship helps open doors for local students as they prepare for life after high school.

Why It Matters

Proceeds from the Great Tailgate support the Last Dollar Grant program -- need-based financial assistance awarded to Crosby Scholars graduates who have unmet college costs. Eligible seniors who complete the Crosby Scholars program and meet academic requirements can apply for up to $1,200 per year for up to four years to help bridge the gap between financial aid and the true cost of college. Each award is thoughtfully determined through an individualized financial need analysis, ensuring support goes where it's needed most.

Since our first graduating class in 2016, Crosby Scholars Rowan has awarded over $1.3 million in Last Dollar Grants to local students, helping turn college aspirations into reality. And the best part? Every dollar raised stays right here in Rowan County, directly supporting our students.
